Apparently Mitch McConnell doesn’t like a taste of his own medicine. In what I could have sworn was an April Fool’s joke, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell took to Politico to argue that Democrats should stop obstructing President Trump’s nominees as they’re considered.
Oh, that’s rich.
Anyone remember how McConnell did Merrick Garland? If that’s not the height of obstruction, I don’t know what is.
It seems as though Mitch isn’t getting a lot of respect from his Senate colleagues. Understandably so, since he’s burned his fair share of bridges during his years in office. Under effective leadership, perhaps senators wouldn’t feel so compelled to resort to these types of ‘obstructionist’ tactics. But hey—it’s a tit-for-tat world, right?
On a positive note, McConnell is up for reelection and he only has a 33% approval rating among his constituents. The ball’s in your court, Kentucky. Could you do the country a solid and vote him out? K thanks.
